Very good questions. I don't know any answers though.

Lets take that one step further. Jehovah's Witnesses are an apostate recruiting machine. They insist that before baptism one writes a letter officially resigning from their former faith, in effect, making them on the record apostates.
I wonder if they do that to break the bonds and make it difficult psychologically for ex-JWs to return to their original faith. Or is it just a way to try to insult "Christendom" to their face. I see no real reason for it. People change religions all the time simply by deciding to attend and join a new church.

Blondie and Witchtower study death threats.
by hamsterbait ini now find the dub only koolaid edition so awful i can only read so much.. blondie does a great job of proxy-studying for us all, we owe her a great debt of gratitude.. i vote that when her task finally drives her barking mad we all club together to pay for her electro-shock therapy, just to help get her back here real soon.. anyway, i digress.. an interesting feature of the studies is the number of death threats, or threats of initiatory force, that are being put in the studies nowadays.
even in titles such as "what will you give to continue living?".
do you think it would be worth posting a "death threat" count for each week?

That's an interesting idea. I like it. It just makes clear how much manipulation is in every issue.

You're right. It's not fair, just, or right in any way. Nor is it loving, though they say that is the mark of true Christians.
I hope and pray that some day this is healed, both for you and your family personally, as well as for JWs across the board.
In the mean time, may you have peace about it.

I have one of his books. It's quite good.
IMO spirituality is a journey. He has certainly been on one. And so have most of us on this board.

Interesting comparison with the WT. High-control, authoritarian groups seem to use the same techniques, whether they are communist countries or cults.

JW "view" on organ transplants
by SnakesInTheTower inlast year when i renewed my driver's license i was asked if i wanted to register to be an organ donor.
of course, in the past, i never did.
joking with the driver's license employee, i asked if they wanted the arm and leg now... they had good humor and responded equally joking that it was ok, they would wait until i died.

You might try getting advice from a lawyer on what things are liable for a lawsuit.

If you were offered the position to run the Watchtower....
by BurnTheShips inwhat would you do?.

Mrs. Fiorini
Would you feel any responsiblility to the millions of psychologically, emotionally, spiritually dependent members al around the world?
Would you consider all the lives built around and centered on the bOrg?
Would you break the truth gradually, gently and point everyone in a new direction over a period of time? Or would you tear down the BethelGod fast and videotape the bridge jumpers?
BTS
Burn,
These are good questions. They are why, IMO, it is best that the WT reform, not crash and burn.
